Winnnie the Pooh and his friends, Piglet, Tiger and Eeyore, were created by A.A. Milne back in 1926. However, it was Disney's portrayal of Winnie the Pooh, that really popularised the characters around the world.

Pooh bear, Tigger and Piglet were actually named after and based upon the very toys of Christopher Robin Milne, A.A.Milne's son, who was also the inspiration for the Christopher Robin character.

Winnie the Pooh toys have been extremley popular for a number of years now, with soft toys being a particular favourite. As Disney now own many of the merchandising rights, expect new Winnie the Pooh and Tigger toys to roll of the production line, for many years to come. Indeed the new Tumble Time Tigger toy, the animated Tigger toy from Fischer Price, has proved to be very popular this year.
