Thunderbirds is now considered a classic of 1960s TV. Essentially a puppet based kids TV show, the lavish production values, excellent attention to detail and skillful puppetry made this show a 'must see' in the 1960s.
Still shown of British TV, Thunderbirds has been embraced by each new generation of children, who are drawn to it's mix of adventure, humour and jeopardy, as the Tracey family race around the world. Such has been the appeal of the Thunderbirds, that a film version of the show was recently released.
As one would expect from a show that has both a mass appeal as well as a loyal cult following, Thunderbird toys and games are hugely popular. Original toys dating back to the sixties are particularily desirable by collectors and can be quite expensive. However, with the shows enduring popularity, modern Thunderbird toys and games are still being produced by the bucketload.
