Family Fortunes started out in 1980 and was originally hosted by Bob Monkhouse. However, it is game show host Les Dennis, who is most widely associated with the programme as he hosted the show for 15 years.

Family Fortunes featured two competing families, who had to guess what the most popular answers where, in recently asked opinion polls. The show often left the contestants stumped as to what answers to give, and often lead to completely ridiculous answers being given by the panicked contestants.

The show has been a hit right around the world, the US version is called Family Feuds, and has resulted in several games based on the show. These include an interactive Family Fortunes DVD game, as well as board games and a travel version of the show.
