Catchphrase was originally hosted by Irish comedian Roy Walker, who ironically enough, developed his own catchphrases on the show - 'it's good, but it's not right' and 'say what you see'.
The game involved two contestants who had to guess the catchphrase being depicted on the TV studio screens, often by a computersised character called Mr. Chips. Due to the shows simply concept, which appealed to viewers of all ages, Catchphrase went on to be a hugely popular show.
Catch phrase has spawned several games based on the show, including an interactive DVD version of the show, as well as a travel version and a board game version.
