Thomas the Tank Engine has clocked up over 280 episodes since he first ventured on to our TV screens back in 1984. Originally the TV series was narrated by former Beatle Ringo Starr, while the US version was narrated by Alec Baldwin.

Since then Thomas and friends have gotten into all sort of scrapes, but the charm of these quaint stories hasn't diminished one bit. The TV series have been faithfully converted to DVD, and many of the best episodes are now avaliable on DVD.
