Red Dwarf is a uniquely British sit-com, that sees the small crew of the space mining ship Red Dwarf, drift through space looking for Earth.

A huge hit in the late eighties and much of the nineties, Red Dwarf has been adopted by fans of comedy as well as sci-fi, and has gone on to develop a very loyal cult following across the world.

The inventive scripts, and excellent performances by the principle cast make Red Dwarf one of the most involving and inventive sit-coms of recent years. But it is the 'odd couple' relationship between uptight Arnold Rimmer and laid back Dave Lister that provides much of the hilarity in the Red Dwarf saga.

The BBC have been quite generous with their DVD releases of Red Dwarf. They have released each series of Red Dwarf on it's own DVD complete with DVD extras and commentary. But they have also released the first four series on a 'just the shows' DVD box set, eschewing all the extras in order to bring the price down.
